The Same Night Sky

20-year-old Min Yeong-gi enjoys being a rapper and musician in an international K-Pop band from Seoul, South Korea. While on tour in the US, Yeong-gi accidentally bumps into Loba Hallaway, a 19-year-old Colorado girl, initiating an awkward yet unshakable feeling of “love at first sight.” While Yeong-gi and his bandmates leave a restaurant in Rendver, CO, he’s staring down at his phone when he collides with Loba. They are instantly intrigued with one another, though Yeong-gi’s slight grasp of the English language proves somewhat frustrating. Still, with his mint-colored hair and compassionate demeanor, Yeong-gi makes an unforgettable first impression on Loba, who Yeong-gi finds attractive with her dark skin and bright smile. He is also taken with the fact that she has no idea who he is since, typically, obsessed fans stalk him. Having lost her mom and dad in a car accident, Loba is learning to manage the company they started as she slips tentatively into adulthood. Yeong-gi continues to make his musical rounds, a journey that takes him far from where Loba calls home. Though their lives are starkly different, their emotions are alike. The two can’t seem to forget each other and the profound connection they’d experienced on the night they met. Yeong-gi tries focusing on his band as Loba attempts to settle down with someone who seems perfect but isn’t even close to it. Hardships test the couple as they navigate life across an ocean between them, with their friends doing whatever possible to kindle the unique bond between Loba and Yeong-gi.
