Little Audrey first appeared in the animated cartoon SANTA’S SURPRISE in 1947, byParamount Pictures’ Famous Studios. She then appeared in the Popeye cartoon OLIVEOYL FOR PRESIDENT. She was immediately popular so of course Audrey was perfect forcomic books. The first issue of LITTLE AUDREY was published in April 1948 by St. JohnPublications. You read that correctly. The first twenty-four issues of LITTLE AUDREY werenot published by Harvey Comics, but by St. John. Harvey licensed Little Audrey, thecharacter, in 1952 and later purchased the rights in 1958.The early St. John LITTLE AUDREY comics, although in the public domain, are difficultto find. Assembled in this book are issues #2 through 10. I am looking for scans of theother issues in the St. John series.
